Blount's Bay

Blount’s Bay is a shallow bay branching off of East Bay and fed by fresh water creeks that mix with the salt water to create one of the most dynamic and important parts of the Apalachicola Bay estuary system.

The original Chason grant covered approximately 300 acres. Today about 250 acres is in private hands with our place having the most acreage under single ownership and by far the most waterfront at over 1400 feet. The Old Chason Plantation is surrounded on three sides by public lands. Your view will never change and the public area around you is safe from development.

Blount’s Bay is a great incubator of life. Each year uncounted billions of shrimp, menhaden and crabs start their life here. It is a strategic stop for ducks and other birds in their yearly migrations. This cornucopia of plenty supports a wildlife population from birds to bears. Whitetail abound. It is one of the few places left where natural processes can continue. It is a special place to live.
