Whether you intend for the Old Plantation to be your primary residence or your retreat, you’ll have a place like few others on the Forgotten Coast to enjoy the outdoors. The cool weather months are perfect for hiking and enjoying the inland wonders. In the warmer months the customary breezes off the Bay hold down the biting bugs so you can still enjoy cooking out and taking in the dazzling views from the decks. Of course, both houses have screened porches so you can savor the views and breezes in peace.

Perhaps the most incredible aspect of the Old Plantation are the unobstructed colors. Sunrises and sunsets are beyond description even using photography. Many people think I must use extravagant filters and techniques to get the colors in my Blount’s Bay photographs. But, none are necessary. Every picture on this site was taken from the Old Plantation. I cannot exaggerate the natural beauty that awaits you practically every God-given day in this most special place.
